A story
Before I joined Sunflower Africa, I'd finish the season and then spend weeks looking for someone willing to buy. The price was always whatever they wanted to give. Now, I sign the contract, I plant, I harvest, and the buyer is already there. That changes everything.
James farms two acres of sunflower in Narok County. Like most smallholder farmers in his area, he used to sell through brokers who set the price after the harvest was already in — when his bargaining position was weakest. Good seasons felt unpredictable. Bad seasons felt catastrophic.
His second season with Sunflower Africa, he received certified seeds, three visits from a field agronomist, and a contract that locked in his price before planting began.
